Kids, they say and do the DARNDEST things! My son is no exception at all.
I was walking home from a neighbors house with Anthony the other day. He was being goofy (my kid? go figure!!) So I say to him "Dood, why are you so weird??" His response "I AM your son" 9/1/11
Be consistent!
I have been taking care of kids since I was 9. Between babysitting, being a nanny, preschool teacher, director, etc.. I have learned that kids will test you, at all times.
Follow through with everything! (If you do that ONE MORE TIME, I am going to take it away.... Dont keep saying it, TAKE IT AWAY!!) Empty threats are just that.. empty.
If it wasn't ok today, then it cant be ok tomorrow!
Kids respect rules and consistency even though they don't realize it.

Lead by example
If you aren't doing the right thing, how do you expect your kids to?
Potty mouth exception: I admit I suffer from potty mouth.. I told Anthony that he can't say certain words until he has a drivers license. It explains to him why I can say it, but he cant. Curbs his parroting me at inappropriate times :)

Why? Why? Why?
Curiosity killed the cat? Maybe, but not with kids...it's a sign of intelligence. Tired of the constant 'Why?" I realized that kids keep asking why until they are given a reasonable answer that they understand.
